Both of us struck down with the worse colds we have had for years. Sinus, chesty cough, sore throats raging head aches and my snotterbox  running like mad. Going on three days so far. Lemsip works a bit but we can't have too many of them. Looked after the rugrat last weekend and he was a bit fretful, so we know where it came from.

Hope you both will be feeling better soon, colds can be horrible things. Chicken soup is meant to help rid a cold or at least ease the symptoms.

Try taking zinc tablets.  They are suppose to boost imunity.   Not had so many colds since I started them.  Might be just luck.

Maybe I would be worse without them. I'm able to function, at least. I've been to the plot this morning and sowed lots of seeds and transplanted stuff  :happy7:

a large whisky to you all.

A measure of how bad we are is I could not even face a drink, even for medicinal reasons :sad2:

I have heard a Bob Martins & a rub down in Daddies Source sorts things out. :drunken_smilie:

Hope you are all well soon.

Cam, I remember when my children were young hardly a week went by without some sort of infection they had picked up and passed on to us.  Think what you have got to look forward to in the next few years....head lice and thread worms as well as all these virus infections.   :sad3:

Ace: no jest, really have had it for three weeks! I am hoping its on the tail end now, just need to get rid of the cough and sore throat, never had anything for such a long time

3 weeks is going to get awkward. Shopping for the father in law will have to be sorted as he is a tad frail and would not last 5 minutes if he catches this one. I've been stinking the house out with my myrtle steam cure. It helps you breathe a bit easier but the fuzzy head is still there.

Ace.  Might be worth ringing the docs. and asking if you would benefit from a course of antibiotics.   Sounds as if you have doubled up  on infections.   Sore throat usually needs treatment.   Can you get advice over the phone from your GP?  Mine is very good like that.   He will ring me back after surgery finishes.  Then someone can collect scrip.

Done that,  loads of questions, turns out we have chest infections so antibiotics are being gulped down with all the other powders, pills and snake oil.

Well I was right then.   You will just have to stick it out.    Not nice.
