I have been cheerfully bunging the tesco junk mail in the bin without opening it, but got a surprise Email from tesco saying I had unused vouchers that were running out of time. So googled it to see if it was a scam, which it was not and checked on the tesco site. £28 to spend by the end of the month. I could print out the vouchers on line in case I had lost them and the Yeti went to tesco. They had an offer doubling your vouchers if you purchased household, clothes etc, so she doubled them and got a steam mop which was in a tatty box but marked down as half price. Result! a £100 steam mop and a cheap leccy kettle for the caravan. Free.

The Yeti really rates the mop and the floors are sparkling.

Check your mail, you never know.

For future reference, you get better value if you use them to get "Rewards vouchers".

I use the train a lot, so most of mine go on train travel, each £5 voucher gives me £10 off a train fare.

ACE, did you know that you could swap the coupons for vouchers three times their value for use on Wightlink?  That's how we were able to come free to the Isle of Wight last year with our caravan.   Coupons can also be exchanged for vouchers to use on the Channel Tunnel. 

I have just sent off for vouchers to to take the grandchildren to the Hawk Conservancy Trust, the Watercress Line and Abbotsbury.  Tesco had a special offer and I got four times the coupon value.  Last year we took them to Wookey Hole, Longleat and the Weymouth sea Life Centre.

There is a snag with Wightlink. If there is an offer and you use the vouchers, they cannot be used on special offers, they charge the normal price which wipes out the savings. Like today I am on a ferry where the caravan goes free £70 return. If I use the vouchers I have to pay £160 before I get the vouchers price off.

That you got back the reward vouchers is good .... However you should still be punished for all the other coupons that come with the rewards being thrown away .... ;D

For those who don't know, Wightlink is the most expensive ferry in Europe. If you ever go to iow book online well before and watch the daily seesaw prices!!
If you have a relative on the Island, it may be possible to glean some vouchers, other wise you'll get royally screwed.

When we went to the IOW last year, the caravan was free as our crossing was scheduled for after 2pm.  However, we arrived early and they put us on the next ferry without extra charge. 

From memory, the trip cost about £100 in vouchers.  Prior to booking we sent £25 worth of coupons to Tesco for exchange and at that time the vouchers were four times the value of the coupons.

Off topic a bit here, but anyone got any good tips for Sainsbury points, I send  my man there to shop and we never do anything with them?

Hiya the Sainsbury Nectar points can be used in store to pay for your groceries or you can also use them in places like Argos. If you check the Nectar site on line there are lots of places you can collect them from as well as Sainsburys & you can also spend them in a few xjane

The Tesco vouchers can be turned into vouchers for places like Pizza Express too. I recently turned £15 of Tesco vouchers into £70 of Pizza Express vouchers. They made a great present to send to my son at Uni xJane

Another tip and slighly off topic, if anyone books the ferry cheap and find the camp sites expensive, Ace will put you up at mates rates.   :D  ;)

The card belongs to the Yeti, but I do have a tesco mobile which is registered to her card which in turn is registered to my email adddress, but she gets all the points.
