Just got a notification from Blackmoor of their end of season strawberry sale - every variety half price, they say.

How much is their delivery?  Can't find out without giving them all my details and opening an account. :(

I was wondering the same and although not definitive, this may give you some idea of their delivery rates:

 £2.50 -  £5.50...hmm.. :-\  + £4 for the plants..

I just ordered 10 bare rooted red gauntlet strawberry plants from Ebay seller (nursery) for £7.00 and that included postage.
They arrived very quickly and all in good condition... ;D

Oh dear! I was consigning strawberry runners to the compost today!

This morning I was doing a bit of tidying up in and around my strawberry bed including removing rooted runners, and as  I had planned on replacing half of the stock at the end of this season by taking fresh runners, I decided to pot these runners up.

I was able to pot up  around 90 of them into 4" pots. ( so in commercial terms I have saved myself around sixty quid)

By potting these runners up, it means I  won't need to root any new runners, and hopefully, I will have plenty established plants to put  in come October,  meaning I should  get a good crop off them next year.

As I see it;   these will be 2nd year plants, as opposed to 1st year this time next year.
