Well our lovely old TV broke yesterday, and we decided after 20 years it was time to buy a new one, but having no money after Xmas, and son getting divorce etc. etc. and having grandchildren etc. etc.  we went to Argos to get one on my Argos card, also went to Currys and Comet but they were all 3'd and then went to Morrisons and bought food and went home (without new TV) and I really, really wanted to watch 'Call the midwife', well to cut a long boring story short, got home and the TV started working.  It must have known that I was cross with it, if you get half a picture banging it does help.  Well, I thought Miranda Hart was really brilliant in 'Call the midwife' and my friend that was a nurse kept telling me about the book.  Did anyone else see it 'Call the midwife' and enjoy it.

Yes, I've watched the whole series & thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved it Borlotti. Did you know that it beat Downton Abbey in the ratings war. Miranda Hart was brilliant, she's gone up in my estimation. I wonder if there will be a second series or is that it?

hippydave

We have watched it all and loved it. We like her as a comedien too.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Actually I was going to ask what an I player is but didn't what to appear stupid. Don't think we have one.  Is it a phone or a Wee or whatever.  ;D ;D ;D Come on Kev 'spill the beans, what is it?  We do have a gramaphone but difficult to get the needles nowadays.

cornykev

Google iplayer and it will give you catch up for any programmes you have missed. Have still got an outside toilet.   ;)

I loved Miranda Hart so much I even wrote to Points of View!  I had no idea she was such a talented actor-I was in tears several times.

Thanks Elvis and Kev, that iplayer thing is brill.  I also felt like writing to say how good Miranda Hart was, and never much liked her before.  TV working at present, it is a Goodmans and has lasted very well, but will eventually have to replace as OH likes playing with the remote control, even if we never watch a programme right through.  Maybe a new one before Wimbledon so that I can see the ball more clearly.  :) :)

Off the subject Gwynnethmary, I see Joanna's chippy in Hartlepool hit the news, thats only a few minutes walk from the outlaws.   :o
