Me being a culinary tart,I just spotted these 2 herbs in a north african recipe but have never heard of them let alone
eaten it.
so has anybody grown and used them in cooking or just grown them for show.

I did look in the forum log,but there isnt much info.

summer savoury is better flavoured than winter, good with beans, stops the wind  ;D

I grow winter savoury as it is very useful in the winter for flavouring soups and stews.  It is a small shrubby looking perenial with woody stems.  Many herb patches ago I grew both winter and summer from seed.  Summer Savoury is an annual and was very tasty but I prefer the Winter Savoury as it just needs a little trim every year and you have a plant for quite a long time.

My current plant came from a local garden centre.  If you have trouble finding it I can send you a soft wood cutting when the plant sends out new growth later in the year.

I have several Winter Savoury self sets if you want...  :)
