I've planted all the decent sized cloves, but mine came from the local market if you get stuck.

Hi Robert - I bought 2 packets (6 bulbs) from the local garden centre today and planted in 3" pots.. My new lottie is only being cleared now so will grow htem in the GH till spring and then plant out - hopefully this should be ok - bad luck if not as the bed is not prepared yet!!

I'll be planting mine out as soon as I have space prepared. They should be OK till spring though. They're very hardy - a pot will catch a hard frost more than the open ground - and the main thing is to let them develop a decent root system overwinter, and get a head start in the spring.

My problem is the lottie has been totally neglected for 2 years so i have a huge job before I can plant anything. Hence the planting into 3" pots. They are in the greenhouse so I'll look after them in the real cold... Nothing else I can do for now and when the ground starts to warm up I'll get them out pronto.
