all that digging all by myself! was a lovely day down the allotment.

teaboy wouldn't help at all with digging but he did squash my garlic quite effectively while attempting to hoe around them, says he didn't see them  ::)

Respect, Legless.....  :o

If I tried to dig my plot just now, I'd need a full body wetsuit!  I'll stick to sowing seeds more in hope than expectation.....

That is very impressive Jo, you deserve a big pat on the back.  As Tim said your soil looks good,  a lot of the allotments on our site have been so waterlogged, the soil is still very "claggy and clarty".

I am just about to go digging myself, though I doubt I will be able to do as good as you.  Reward yourself with a chocolate bar, you must have lost a lot of calories in that effort.  :D  busy_lizzie

thanks!

yeah it is good soil, the bloke before the lad who had it for a year before me really looked after it apparently and it has plenty of organic matter in it. after that photo was taken i laid out the beds (corner posts and twine cos i've got no wood at the moment) and forked in some well rotted manure.

no offence meant about the boots muddy!

hope your digging went well busy lizzie, sadly i can't lift my arms today  :D

Digging didn't go well, far too windy - gale force in fact  and bitterly cold, trying very hard to snow.  :o It felt such a long time since I had done any real work, that I was puffing and panting with the effort of it.  Lifting a grassy patch near the back of the plot.   Think I will also be achey tomorrow.  Oh well! got to make a start sometime.  If the weather stays fine will be at it again this week. :) busy_lizzie

It's that Mimi's fault, BL, she keeps sending the gales all over the place  ;D ;D ;D

Admire your fortitude, achy maybe but just think how pleased you'll be!

Muddy, will you please not inform people that I have wind ;D It is a personal problem and not one to be discussed willy nilly.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

You're such an inspiration Leglesss that, after consulting the weather forecast (which I may later regret....)  I've taken Wednesday and Thursday off as annual leave!  I'm not expecting to do much diging but if I get the garlic in that has been busting out of their rooting cells since November, I'll be happy!

I hear ginger is good for wind, Mimi!   :D
