Our lovely Cats Protection lady is fostering 5 kittens and brought them with her to the Summer Fayre yesterday.  They are only about 9 days old and were found on a farm.  The mother is feral and had been caught and neutered but it seems that the vet didn't realise she had new kittens somewhere.  Luckily someone heard them crying and rescued them.  They had been a whole day without food and were very weak.  CP lady is feeding them every 2 hours and they are getting stronger and taking more milk.

I had to hold some of them yesterday  :) and she brought them again today so I could take some photos.  -

Beautiful wee things. The CP lady sounds a very special person.

Oh I want one/all of them! Aren't they gorgeous!

Well done to your wonderful CP lady - they wouldn't have made it without her.

(But I'm very surprised that, while neutering their mum, the vet didn't notice that she was lactating!  :o :o :o)

Squash64

Yes, they are beautiful.  I think there are 3 grey and 2 black.
CP lady can't understand how the vet didn't notice either, it's very strange.

I don't know how CP lady manages.  As well as looking after these kittens, she has 2 14-week kittens which she's had since they were one day old, a boarder while someone is away on holiday and her own 4 cats.  And she makes all the jam and preserves from our allotment stuff to sell for CP funds.

I wish I lived closer, I want to cuddle them too. Thanks for sharing.

Bear in mind dogs have owners but cats have staff.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

...and don't I know it!

Here's the kitten a week later.  She is a bit damp because CP lady just had to wash her with a baby wipe because the other kittens had pooed on her!  That's something I never realised, that mother cat would be cleaning up the babies all the time.

Anyway, here she is

CP lady has named the grey kittens Lady Jane, Earl and Macy and the black ones are Jack and I think, Roger.

They are adorable!  ;D

The kittens are now 7 weeks old and came to see us again today.  I just love this one, she is such a pretty kitten.  None of them have homes yet..........but I'm sure they will soon.

That should not be allowed, no pictures of kittens, I want one or two or three.  Perhaps I could get rid of OH and be a really eccentric old lady and have all the stray cats and kittens.

How cute is that :)
God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

Our CP lady brings the kittens to visit us at the allotments quite often.  Because the litter has been hand-reared they are very friendly and love all the attention they get. I tried to get a photo of the five of them together but they wouldn't keep still long enough  :)

OOOhhhhNNNNNOOOOOOOO KITTENS!!! Love, want....
But sadly already have one at home that wants 100% love  ;D  ;D  ;D
So great to see how they change from weird fluffy ball to something cat-like in just a few weeks! They are beautiful.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com
