stupid queation about chilis

do chilis actually like full sun? I'm not sure the chinense ones do very much. They look a lot more healthy in the house than the ones in the garden

I don't think they do like full sun at all..well not when its hot...and I've noticed lack of roots on sunny side of the pots so now I always put something to shade that side and stop the compost going too warm.
I've now some naga morichs that are happier in house where they get sun only a half of the day..as soon as I brought them in they started to green up and put some lush growth on again.

that's my experience also. Thanks. In a greenhouse would be OK I expect. No UV
