Not mine - Delia's. Two+ kilos ready for mixing in - with a sweet chilli for colour.

LESSON 1 - do not duplicate to save time. Delia knew that her amounts filled anyone's ordinary colander or saucepan.
I doubled up & had to weigh it all into 2 batches to make it possible to handle.

And, because I salted it overnight, instead of 3 hours, I had nearly a pint of syrup left over.
