Evil Biting Bugs!

Can anyone help!  I was down my plot this weekend and have been attacked by I think a Longhorn beetle,  well that's what I have found with the closest photos so far.  They are mainly black with yellow patches on their wings.

Does anyone know if they are supposed to be evil as you can feel the bite (so I know it's them not the mossies).  I have had my plot for over 6 years and never seen them before, let alone been bitten.

When you look you can find them on various plants around the plot especially the nettles (not on my plot..)

I had the Avon oil on to no avail  :'(

Cant help with your question but wanted to come on and sympathise. Doesnt sound nice at all!!
