Hi, how do I add some photos - either to my profile pic or within a forum message so I can ask for ideas?

use the IMG tags like this ( i have to space this out so you can see the code, otherwise the web page will try and read it as an image and you wont see the tag)

[ i m g] http://www.henshaws.org.uk/public/carrots.jpg[ / i  m g]

but take all the spaces out. What you get is this:

If you reply with quote to this post, you will see the tag code. The other point is that you need to upload the images to somewhere they can live, on the internet, a site like http://photobucket.com/  will do. When you upload an image there, it gives you the URL to put between the IMG tags.

The image at the side of the post is called an avatar. you change it at the profile settings page, the sub menu 'Forum Profile Information'. Theres three optoins at the top for using a board avatar, uploading your own, or linking to a external image. I havent checked but there probably a size limit on the avatar, usually around 150x150 pixels. if you click the little face under where the avatar is   that takes you to the profile page summary.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Hi "kayelondon"

(sorry to be coming in to this one a bit late)

I upload my photos to the Gallery, then paste photos from there into messages (see, for example, my recent 'Mouldy Chits?' post). So no money involved, no separate 'photobucket' or other websites.

(Uses the tags, like "lincsyokel" has said.)
