Printer problems !!

HI all,I have ben asked if i can sort out someones comp/printer problem.( printer wont  print from computer,but will print a copy).He is on vista which i havent used !I think he has about 20 items in a queue ,could this be causing the trouble.Any help greatly appreciated

I would suggest clearing the queue and starting again.

If that doesn't work on its own try switching off and then on again.
That is the sum total of my knowledge and advice on computers! ;)

I'm no expert, but would suggest click on the windows icon (usually on the bottom of the computer screen), click on "printers and devices", then check the printer queue and delete the document that's at the top of the queue, or delete everything in the queue. Happens with out printer at work, usually when several people are trying to print lots at the same time, the printer memory gets overloaded and jams.  Hope this helps

I,m only a beginer but has he downloaded  the disk to get a connection from his computer  to the PC  or you can reinsert the disc  cancel the programe and  then reinstale it

I would try Rugbypost's suggestion, also when he clicks 'print' it then asks you to 'select printer' on mine, does he need to make sure he has the correct one selected, or go into the control panel and select a default printer?

Just a thought, good luck sorting it.

thanx for the replies am going round tomorow to have a look at it . Tulippa we think 1 of the cats is pregnant ,but not 100% sure at the moment.

Check that the cable is still connected, as the copy function will work regardless of whether it is or not.

thanx all,got it sorted now deleted 30 items in the queue and it all ok now.
