I've got to renew my driving licence, another twenty quid + whatever the Post Office charge, I thought once I changed over to a piccie licence that was it, I was unaware I had to change it every ten years, thieving barstards.      :'( :'( :'(

Me too - got a bloody letter before Xmas and still havent done it.
Very helpfully says that for an extra charge I can do it at the PO - so I get to pay twice if I could but the *fatherless children* shut down my local post office (it's now in WH Smiths)...
Meh - I haven't changed much in ten years!
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

We've stuck with paper versions for this reason. Despite having points from an ancient "tut tut" speeding fine on mine :-[

Just another stealth tax.

Did mine on line.   I found it quite easy to do which was a shock as I don't find doing things on the net very easy.
It came back reprinting my previous photo which I think is strange.
My "points" are still on.   I thought they came off after 3 years.

I thought it was 5 years, but puts insurance up for 3. It's over 10 for me but I'll put up with them rather than cough up!

It's the photocard part of my licence that indicates I need to reapply next year.  But I must say it needs to be replaced.  Unfortunately the years have not been kind to me :( ;)  I can fully understand why the ten year life of the photocard is set as such.  As for points, Tomatoada, you've another year to wait - it's four years now. They moved the goal posts a few years ago.

I did mine by post. I dont know what the post office charge but remember to add the cost of the getting your photo taken too it cost me £5 in one of those photo booths.
I did try to get mine done at the post office but as always the queues and the fact that there was no staff available to see to me put me off !

dont be fooled by the name I am a Lady!! :-*

Be careful Duchess, they'll reduce it to every 5 years!!!!!   :-X xxx

Tomatoada I can't seem to find how you do it on line, there doesn't seem to be an option for changing your photo, I'm not looking forward to queuing in, no outside the post office, I usually nearly lose my rag by the time I get to the front of the queue, I've left mine to late to send off now, the p/o want another £4.50 to take my photo.     :( :( :(

Cheers Landimad, I found that one but would not let me do it on line, I must be missing something,  ???  I must be getting one of Shirl's purple moments,  :P  I have been down to the post office and done it now £20  +£4.50 and a bus each way, I nearly forgot another two quid in Greggs as I took the kid with me straight from school.    :'( :'( :'(

Why not be trendy and drive round with no docs and no licence, ;)
