Okay, are any of you going to admit to a New Year Resolution?  And, if so, dare you confess it here?

Perhaps, for those who are serious about their's, we should have a poll for them!

Mine is totally ridiculous.  Have acquired a 'state of the art mobile phone' which does everything but make tea!  No guesses for how long it will take me to work it out.  Just started texting after five years of having a phone that can do it!  However, my ambition is to suss media messaging, video messaging, camera et al by March!

Yes, sorry, takes me that long!

But what about the rest of you, what are you going to achieve in 2005?

Mr Aqui and I have a tradition of every New Year writing down 10 achievements we made in the year just ended and 10 goals for the New Year. This year mine include:

To have at least one meal made (as far as possible) entirely from garden produce.
To canter along the field were last year I fell off and badly sprained my ankle.
To go canoeing, try yoga or pilates and do a bungee jump for charity (I'm really scared of heights!)
To meditate at least every other day.
To give up all sugary snacks for March.

I can't remember any more (my list's at home).

Now I've told you all, I have to do them!

Get fit and keep fit is the number one.

Spend a wonderful weekend in Devon in June with all the family to celebrate by lovely grandads 80th birthday. (okay, not a resolution, but a 'willdo')

Be more organised on the plot and try to keep better notes (have a nice book, thanks mum, which I am hoping to keep my notes in.)

Try to spend less time worrying about the mess the kids are making and more time making mess with them and playing.  (I do seem to spend an awful lot of time going round in circles tidying up after them, and then going back and doing it again..should just leave it and do it all once a day once they are in the bath!)

And a 'maydo'...get a part time job in September once number one son starts school full time.

Don't really make NY resolutions as such, but on the list of things to attempt this year:

-Eat healthy, exercise more and lose a few kilos
-Do some more travel - Scotland and Prague perhaps
-Help the in-laws out more by taking the younger kids out and giving them a rest.

edit
Oh and
-Compost, recycle and re-use a lot more, less plastic bags for shopping etc
Lottie-less until I can afford a house with it's own garden.

Marianne

Get rid of more than a few kilos!! Try and grow something that can be eaten like Parsnips, turnips and co.  Go for walks in this gorgeous countryside and enjoy life.

Enjoy today to the full.  You are not sure of a tomorrow.

Realy have to change a few things:
-- (Try to) spend less time in the veg garden ( everything will grow fine, even if I am not there)
-- Stop working after 2 o'clock in the night ( but it is quiet and my dead line.........)
-- Take more time to find new house in UK with enough ground  ( before septembre, if possible!!!)
-- Keep my organizing power DOWN, ( life is easy, hum...hum...
life is easy, hum... hum.... when everything is in order and goes like clockwork)

And another one - fix water butt to shed. I keep putting it off (haven't even bought it yet), because the guttering looks like it'll be tricky to fix (shed too close to fence). But I WILL do it this year.

(1) Get married.

(2) Spend more time on the lottie*, and get that last "wild" bit (currently under plastic) dug over into beds so I can grow more stuff.

*not as a direct result of (1), you understand!

We don't have a garden but she does like pottering around the lottie - but not at this time of year  :(. She tends towards the "tidying up" jobs rather than the heavy stuff - making the bed edges straight, clearing up piles of weeds, stones etc as I plough on through with my spade. As long as we set aside a few beds to grow some flowers, and I leave her a small patch of grass to sunbathe on*, should we get the weather, then she's happy. It all seems to work wonderfully.

*Also doubles as a space to entertain friends, have BBQs etc in the summer as we live in a flat very close by.

Well - one of my resolutions is already on the way to being achieved - I've got my first yoga class tonight. Can't wait, but also a little nervous. I hope I'm not the only beginner. And I still feel stiff after riding yesterday. eek.

I'm pleased to report yoga was fantastic! It left me feeling really energised, but relaxed. I feel taller too! But boy am I stiff, despite teh riding!
