Borlotti

Just had to have a go with one of my pumpkins I grew from seed, a bit fed up with pumpkin soup.  Never done it before and OH said I was behaving like a child at Xmas.  Will put it outside tomorrow night, he thinks it will be stolen but I have three more, so there.  ;D ;D ;D

I reckon he's a tad jealous you got there first and are having all the fun. Go for it, your pumpkin looks fantastic.

I'm feeling a bit sad as this is the first year none of the kids has bothered to carve a pumpkin. :'(

Mind you, given that the youngest is 17 I haven't done to badly, I suppose!

Just had the first children knocking, very polite with parents, and got their sweets and loved my pumpkin.

Quick, get the pumpkin in, I have had so many children I have run out of sweets.  Just off to the shop to buy some wine and more sweets.  Might have to give them my Roses chocs. :( :(

Just made pumpkin bread ready for the kids -but it's just chucked it down so we might end up eating it!

Just had about the 12th lot round, I don't mind but one lot had ten of them with their bags open, a bit strong I think.  :P :P :P
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

We had over twenty groups call between 5pm and 6.30pm and most consisted of at least three children in each group;  all the sweets have now gone, so we've blown out the pumpkin light;  there's still more groups about (as we can hear them) but we think we've given out enough for this year.

Felt sorry for the man in the corner shop, boys on bikes and with masks came in and stole sweets, he set the alarm off and I shut the shop door.  I said he shouldn't be in the shop on his own, but he said he knows the boys.  Shame as all the children that knocked with parents were sweet, said to one 'what is the trick', and she went all shy and didn't know, but they all got sweets, but now they have all gone and the pumpkin is hidden and the lights out.  Night, night.

Not a single one here- it pays to live on the edge of town sometimes! ;D

Fork

Just like last year, lots of sweets for any little people who want to come knocking and nobody so far.Think it might be because their are no children on this street any more, they have all grown up.Plenty in the area though.

Looks like I will have to eat them all myself again  ;D
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

We're like you Fork.

My husband bought two multipacks of sweets for Halloween over the past couple of days, but kept eating them all by 'mistake'. Then today he bought a third lot, and was really good, didn't eat one.

And no one knocked on our door!  ::)

it was ok for us, I don't give sweets to strangers!
You couldn't make it up!

Only 2 older girls who had dressed suitably and were given sweets, like Fork we will be eating the rest of the sweets. Our son is sixteen so have said probably the last year I will grow pumpkin for carving, however will grow some for the chickens.

Have hidden sweets from 16 year old other wise all will no doubt be eaten by now - i'll have to remember Ive hidden them and where though- the other day found some chocolate I bought a few months ago and hid, was aiming to share it out, but forgot all about it.
