My PFA's are also very big this year.  I haven't dug them all up yet but I have a huge crop.  Tomatoes have also been prolific and all grown outside.  Can only be the weather.

Ditto.... but I left them in a lot longer this year.... that said I didn't seem to have a blight problem on them when other varieties started to show signs.... I was quite amazed when I started digging... first things out were big tubers so I assumed I'd only get a few, but they kept on coming.....  Will be doing the grand audit of the harvest this week/weekend but I reckon I've got enough to last me until at least march.... Due to their storage ability (has anyone ever got a proper chit off them?) I'm supposed to eat them last, though I frequently find an excuse to have some earlier 9I start eating more salads in the autumn than I ever do in the summer....)

Why didn't my PFA look like this? I had some like this, but many were much 'lumpier', and they are not storing well - some are rotting already. There's no evidence of slug damage, no blight, all my other varieties are fine. I'm disappointed because the taste is divine......is there some secret I've missed?

Big, yes, but floury this year. May not store so well?
