HP Toners

Have  had a Hp Laserjet CP1215 Printer bought  for £110--22 months ago used  for  Home use only. They  have  `4` colour Toners installed.Bought  `2` Toners over a period of time, that emptied from Ebay £26--all OK, but back in July I thought  I`d  get `2`  more  Colour  Toners as a backup, for  when  other `2`Toners expired. So  on 17.9.10  the existing Yellow  Toner expired,  so  out  came  stored yellow  Backup. Installed  correctly but  didn`t  work, contacted  Ebay  Seller,  he  didn`t want to know, because they were bought in July 2010 and its now Sept 2010. Contacted  Staples LTD they  said New Yellow Hp Toner was £84---what a Joke --printer was only £110.Contacted  Dixons Online they  are  £49.98 so Ordered one and now awaiting delivery. So  what I want  to say is, be careful  buying Toners  from  Ebay for £26 pay the extra for Dixons Toners and be safe with no hastle. If I bought a New Printer now for Home use, I`d forget  Laser Printers & buy a Kodak Inkjet, because their Ink Cartridges are cheaper & last longer ---well thats what the adverts say, but do these Kodak Cartridges hold the same amount of ink compared with Epson Cartridges  ? ? Anybody  out there with the New Kodak Inkjet Printer Costing around - £70--Answers please because grandson wants to buy New Inkjet Printer.

I hope you haven't thrown the faulty one away. I have found that when my black toner cartridge was leaving a feint stripe in a document, I took it out gave it a good shaking, put it back and it worked.

So, if you still have it, give it a good shake up.

Get the Kodak it has one black one colour cartridge if you only have one of each it is much cheaper to produce, I have the wireless 3 in 1 and I think it is the dogs b##~;ks, HP have thousands of differant cartridges this is why it is so dear

As a designer I get through a fair bit of ink, and have for the last 6 months or so been using a company called 'stinkyink' (www.stinkyink.com) for all my cartridges.  They offer a good price on originals, but their compatibles are superb.  My canon s9000 costs around £70 - £80 for 'off the shelf' originals (6 tanks), but they do a full set of compatibles for £15 - next day free delivery too.  Customer service is spot on too - had a retaining arm broken on one tank; sent an email, got a reply within 30 mins and a new ink tank next morning along with a discount voucher by way of apology.  I wouldn't go anywhere else for ink now.

Toner cartridges (hp anyway) do expire, they wear out and the drums get scratched leaving marks on the job, a real pain as you can't tell until you get it into the printer to try it :-\

Hi, I work in a school and we have loads of HP printers on the network including 1215's. We use a company called Green Source in Bristol as they deliver free and replace any 'duff' cartridges free of charge with no quibble. Might be worth a call, btw the quality of prints from laserjets is much better than inkjets depends on what type of printing you are doing; but you probably already know that. Good luck ;)
