Hi,
All around my new garden allotment are oak and ash trees and when their leaves  start falling should I just pile them all into my compost bins or mix them up with grass cuttings, kitchen waste etc etc ?
much obliged

Hiya, pete, we sometimes put them in black bags, puncture them and leave them to rot,or put themin a cage made of chicken wire, in answer to how many, as many as we can get  ;D

I'd get them all into a single pile, maybe add som e manure, maybe shake over some BFB while I did it.... then cover them with a bit of carpet and let them rot....As many as you can knock up pallet heaps for....

keep tree leaves separate from other compost. a couple of builders 1 ton bags are ideal for leafmould. just collect leaves, compress, wet (with water) and leave for at least a yr! best seed compost you'll ever get ;)
You couldn't make it up!
