Just received some dry rooted strawberry plants for Thompson and Morgan. I'm wondering what to do with them now as the bed they are going in isn't available yet.

thanks
Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Could you pot them up? That's what I'll be doing with mine. Not sure but I think they need a soaking before.

Thanks for the reply.

Are yours staying in the pots? Mine are eventually going in raised beds.

Grannyjanny's right; soak the roots for a few hours or overnight before you plant them.
You can pot them up, or 'heel them in' - just tuck them into the ground wherever you have a corner.
Whichever you do, make sure you plant the strawbs at the right depth. All the roots should be covered but the little crown (the lumpy bit at the heart of the little plant where all the leaves grow from) should be above ground.
They'll be fine in open soil or pots kept on the dry side of damp... Apart from planting depth, strawbs are very easy-going things.  =)

Just to clarify..can I put the in pots now and then take them out again to go into their final home? When's good to do it?

Rutters yes that exactly what to do, planting them this month would be best but they can wait until next spring / when the ground is available
