I am off on a weeks holiday tomorrow so I thought I would take a bit of the allotment with me.

I will be taking some of this;

Won't be around much for the next week unless I can find a wi-fi connection I can tune into so behave yourselves while I am away ;D

what are the peppers?... and I agree.... tea is whatever I've picked off the garden and/or allotment..... though it is turning into a courgette based diet......

Have a lovely time. You can put your feet up when the little ones are in bed ;)

What a lovely veg basket.  But where are the carrots?  And only seven small courgettes. ;D ;D

Such an inspiration!  You deserve a break after producing that lot - wonderful!

Watch it Tee Gee.  Bude is in Cornwall.  Remember to take your passport 8) .

Have a Kelly's Icecream at the canal side and enjoy a few lazy days.

If you want a bit of excitement go from Widemouth bay to Crackington via Millhook.  Then do it at night!!

They don't seem small to me! They are even starting to be too big for my liking! After that they start to be unwieldy and lose their flavour.

Have a nice holiday Tee Gee! Wish I could have done some lettuce, with this drought it was just impossible.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Here here i'm getting a little fed up of courgettes there's only so many things that i can hide them in, my partner said that he thought we should have sausage and chips so i couldn't hide any courgettes in!

Tee Gee

Hi all I'm back, came back early for a rest! 8)

Now to answer your questions;

Quotewhat are the peppers?

Chilli peppers! Own seed can't recall if these ones were from Jalapeno or Bulgarian carrot that I had saved.

Quotewhere are the carrots?

In the ground! I doubt I will be picking these for at least another month yet, but then again I might have a change of mind and pick a few.

I don't usually pick them till I see the leaves beginning to die back!

QuoteAnd only seven small courgettes

You should have seen the ones that I threw away  <    very large   ::)    >

tomorrow the plot holder next to ours (we were only asked to water as/ if necessary) is due home from 3 weeks away.

I think he will be standing there for some considerable time shaking his head in disbelief at the weed and crop growth.

Plot holders please note....Holidays are to be taken only from November to February!

Great part of the country and the local beers are better than the ice cream ;D
