Has anyone purchased this item?

If you have this trolley what do you think about it now?  Any problems?

Is it a good buy?  Does it do what it says on the tin?

No sorry. I've recently purchased a small trolley instead because the path to my plot is so narrow that a wheel barrow can't do it.

Hope someone else can help soon

Do you have a link, or who is selling it, Bill?

we have 2 communal trollies on our plots, Bill..we find them ideal for bringing large loads up as we have only a footpath  :)

We bought one a few months back and find it very useful.  I move my pots around in it and it is very useful for moving heavy garden furniture about.  One of the best buys we have ever bought.   :D

They seemed to vary in price considerably and there were two different sizes.   We wanted a larger one than the one Robert Dyas advertised for £50.  We bought from these people in the end and their delivery was the next day!

The only disadvantage that we have found is that the pins that hold the sides on can work loose and fall out.  We have now put tape around them.

I bought one nearly 2 years ago, and it gets far more use than the wheelbarrows.  I`ve several times had loads of over 5cwt on it.  For good measure I made removable lightweight side extensions to raise the sides to 2 ft for shifting leaves, grasscuttings and shreddings etc which means I can shift the equivalent of 5 or 6 barrowloads in one go.  And the grandchildren are always delighted to pull it around the garden for me.  I simply wouldn`t be without it now.

Don't get the Robert Dyas one if you need a proper trolley. They are rubbish and never worth the money. I had one from B&Q that lasted a few years, if they still stock them it would be a good buy.
If you only potter about, a cheap one will do, but it will rust out very quickly. Real gardeners need real tools so be prepared to pay out a few bob for a good one.

Plasic wheels, no good unless they have bearings, the front steering bogey needs to be very strong, the handle needs to be long enought so you do not have stoop or tip the the stupid thing when you pull hard. Nuts and bolts, not cheap  R pins to hold it together. If it has a tipping mechanism give it to somebody you don't like.

Thanks all for the replies.

I have had one for about 15 months.  Picked up grass from the playing fields and took some bags of manure to the alotment which is a 20 minute walk from here.

Recently the front wheels have split from the hub just outside the weld.  It seems that the bearings may have gone as one side fell out when i took the wheels off.

I have replacements but at £24 a time i am looking to see if anyione else has found better replacements than those offered by Handy.  Handy don't want to know as they get more money.

any information would be very helpful.  (Ace thanks for the plastic wheel tip).

I had one from Homebase for fifty quid several years ago, and it's still going strong.
