Will it do any harm if I cut back the foliage of my dicentra before it has died back? It's in a rather overcrowded area of my garden and I could do with the stems being out of the way!

Not at all...I have one that is in wrong place..cannot dig it out because other plants..so last few years I've tried to pull it out..but every spring it just re-grow.. ::)..so I doubt some pruning will do any difference.. ;D

I've just cut my dicentra bleeding heart down, it had grown huge and was crowding the other plants out, I do this every year, no problems so far  ;D

I took lots of pieces out of the bleeding heart and the feathery leaved one, can't remember the name..just had a look around and taking bits with roots, they all took and were sold at our plant sale  ;D
