I have learned to live with the security wiring of electronic goodies in the High Street. I have reluctantly accepted the need to alarm bottles of spirits in the supermarkets.

But when it comes down to alarming PP3 batteries..........in the vernacular, it makes me spit. = Tim

I was amazed at that also Tim.  Stocked up on batteries for the Christmas gathering of noisy movey jumpy loud toys and every one had an alarm chip on it!  Everything will be wired for sound before long.

But it is these small items which are the most commonly stolen from stores. And in the long run it is us the customer who pays for the crime, in the form of increased prices and higher security. Sad reflection on the state of society though!
Gardening is the great leveller.

razor blades also, seem to come equipped with tags. wilkos and tescos have a blank box you take to the till to exchange for the real thing, so they can't get pinched.

Condoms in my local Tesco are tagged in a small plastic box, looks like a watch.

Was talking recently to one of their shelf stackers, he says anything small and easily hidden just walks out, esp razors, he has bald head and gets an awful time over the razors. He's not prematurely bald, just keeps it shaved.  Had a guy come in and rob about 25 toothbrushes, E3 each, to flog them off in local boozer a euro a pop.

Palustris is right.
