Hello, I've been trying to get hold of Kumara sweet potato for some time with no luck. I grew it a few years ago with great success but my hubby threw away the tubers I saved for planting by mistake (he got rid of them cause they were looking wrinkly ::)). I've been checking Sainsbury's, where I originally got the potatoes from, but it seems they stopped stocking Kumara.
I would be most grateful if someone could offer me some slips/tuber that are going spare at all. I have veg/flower seeds and plants (Yellow rasberry, Jerusalem artichokes, strawberries, lemon balms etc.) in return. I am happy to contribute to the postage if preferred.

Thank you in advance. :)

Sorry I can't help with tubers. I've looked for them on and off for a few years as I fell in love with them while in New Zealand.
Hope you find some  :)

Thanks for your replies.  :)

Weequinie, thank you for the link. I'm going to contact them. 8)

Jayb, yes, Kumara is gorgeous, isn't it? I think it's the best sweet potato I've tasted (at least in UK) and it's not too difficult to cultivate either. If you have a chance to grow it in the future do give it a go!

Sainsbury's still sell Kumara, but I suspect only certain branches stock them. :( (Edit: I bought some around a month ago.)

It's the Taste the Difference ones you need, current packaging can be seen here, if you squint you can just about read the label. It might be worth ringing around your local stores.

My Supermarket has a pic of the old pack, which shows the variety a little more clearly.
