shonam - you do know there is environmental health legislation to stop the dogs barking?! I think it's the 1990 act...
control of pollution act?
You couldn't make it up!

You couldn't make it up!

I use my radio all the time on the allotment, but only with headphones. I would hate to miss Womans hour or the afternoon play. I would surely hate it if I had to listen to someone elses radio though, and I think I would have to say something.
Smile, it confuses people.

I phoned environmental health about it a few years ago. They said they come out and measure the 'noise' over half an hour or something. They take measurements from three different rooms in the house but the legislation says it has to be with the windows closed but since the barking is a nuisance in the summer when we have all the windows open it was a bit pointless. I spoke to a few people who were all very sympathetic but couldn't do much. I was told that if we were both in council houses they had more control over the situation. Really frustrating. They're a really scummy family who think they're all that. I'm sure you know the type...Needless to say its rottweilers. Not to say I have anything against rotties - just the way some people use them as status dogs when they can be such lovely pets  in the right hands...
