Any plumbers out there?

Whenever we run the bath or mixer shower in our second-floor bathroom, there is a kind of whistling in the pipes, as if there is some air somewhere. This doesn't happen with any of the other taps in the house and has only started in the last few weeks. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Q, what type of hot-water system do you have, a hot-water cylinder? or a combi-boiler?
if it is the later, what you are hearing is due to you wanting 'extra hot' baths / showers, and the main water supply being even colder than usual, and the resultant extra work the boiler is trying to do, by pushing more water through the heat exchanger than normal. heat exchangers have narrow passages, this can further be restricted to provide more heat. this is what I reckon it is.  ;)

:o :'( My OH is the bestest plumber and heating engineer in the universe.  ;D
But he's in bed.  :( I'll ask him tomorrow but I won't see him until 2.30pm as he's up and out at 5am and I'm not getting up that early!!

Used to live in a house where the whole house rocked and rolled when you run the water...........happy days  ;D
