Hi all!!  ::)

I need your help and advice again!

Sorry to be a pain!

What is the best way to protect my pots in the garden from frost. I have herbs in pots and some perennial plants such as chocolate cosmos,Coreopsis etc

Thank you yet again for your help!

Put them on terocotta pot stands to allow air to pass under, they tend to freeze if in direct contact with a solid base. 8)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think if you put them next to a house wall, the heat from the house might help.
Lottie-less until I can afford a house with it's own garden.

If you have a bit of bar soil simply dig holes and sink the pots to their rims.  If you wish to protect them from above just insert a few sticks into the soil around the rims and ten around with bubble polythene.

I believe so Moggle, the house acts like a storeage heater, absorbing all the heat through the day then releasing it through the night.  I don't know if that would provide enough protection for really tender plants and my real tender ones go into the greenhouse.  So that are 50/50 are grouped together on the deck against the house wall, south facing so gets as much sun as these winter days offer.

You could also try bubble wrapping the pot..  Havent tried it myself so I cant vouch for it but have seen it advised before.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

I bubble wrap pots Mimi, it works for me!
