Has a few different types..
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

I think that you will need to invest in some mill stones to do your own grinding. if you are intending to make flour from it.

Here are some recipe tips

Good luck

I haven't grown it but I have tasted the packaged quinoa. Its okay but felt that it needed to be cooked in stock to give it flavour. A cross between cous cous and rice.

I used to eat Quinoa a lot - very unusual texture and a nuttiness to it, but then I'm a grain lover.

It's easy to get in the supermarket.

I grew amaranth, a relative, last year.  Very much enjoyed growing it because of its dramatic flowerheads and it yields a useable crop from just a handful of plants.  Fiddly to thresh, I imagine quinoa's the same, but if you enjoy doing things with your hands and you've got the time go ahead.
