Thanks to my lovely appliance buying Nana it didn't take too long on my fabby sewing machine.  ;D
Typing that just made me think of all the appliances she has bought me over the years: sewing machine, bread maker, Kenwood chef (wooohooooo) food processor, chip pan, chest freezer, 3 tier steamer, coffee maker (the drip one) and the fancy metal one that goes on the hob. She knows she is appreciated but I think I'll have to send her a nice floral reminder tomorrow.  ;D

I know!! I do get regular supplies of tea-towels, oven gloves and those things you put spoons on when you're cooking! Apparently the worktop isn't acceptable.  ;)

hahaha! Kids! ;D  At least it is cute and not some tattered dirty careless scrap of tasteless rag (just saw an article stating "bikers jeans" are IN- messy blue jeans with rips and patches. Ugh!

Firstly, thanks all! Secondly it appears my nana has taken over this thread-GrannieAnnie-when I was 13 I had a pair of ripped jeans that had taken me ages to 'perfect'. I went to stay with my grandparents, as we did most hols and while we there... she mended and patched them!!!  :o :o :o :o Then presented them to me in a blase, "Oh, I've done you a huge favour" kind of way. She knew what she was doing, she just wasn't going to allow me to leave the house like that!!!  ;D

[/quote I'm showing my age! Recently we were watching some of the Foyle's War series and commented how neat and cleanly folks dressed to go shopping back then. A shame things have deteriorated to my way of thinking. But that is not what this thread is about!

;D GrannieAnnie-I am the one who started the thread so permission to wander freely is granted! I love the way people dressed to travel in the 20's and 30's. Not like now with men wearing ugg boots (so wrong) and more polyester than is safe.  ;D

:o  :o  :o So that's where I've been going wrong all these years (amongst other things!)

As to Foyles war - never seen an episode but they film it in the old town in Hastings.......

Indeed. I have several if you'd like one! The last time she visited I was making a lasagne-stirred the sauce-put the spoon down on the top and she asked where the spoon thing was (which has a proper name that I don't know) I had to shame-facedly retrieve one from the back...and I mean the back of a cupboard.
:-[ Well, the tops ARE clean!
