Well, it is all over the place here, I am going to two parties, not exactly sure what I will be wearing but I have this nice XXXL baby grow, thought I might hug a bear and have a dummy.. not sure what I would actually call myself though.

Other night, well I just don't know and I will be answering the door to all the kids at My disabled friends house actually on the night so I have to be something.

I love Halloween here, at five the babes in arms come all dressed up like Anne Geddes children ,after that the kids come with their Mums and Dads, as long as the porch light is on,( they don't knock if it is not lit)  As the night progresses till about nine we answer the door to perhaps a 100 or so.

The shops are full of stuff, the charity stores are full of folks too and the kids are talking about nothing else.

We bought 2 bags of wrapped candies yesterday 75 pieces to a bag, .. no money is given of course but the candy will all go.

It's a truly fun safe night here

Hi Jeannine, Hi all,  :)

My wife and I love Halloween, but she is American so we do it the American way.
In England it seems that people want to turn it into a blood-fest and then they object to it being a blood-fest. Trick or treating becomes an excuse for anti-social behaviour of all kinds, demonstrated by limits being placed on the sale of eggs and flour at this time.

We have been to Halloween costume parties at Disneyland Paris and in both our workplaces we find ways to encourage fun Halloween activities. I have managed to distribute my harvest of pumpkins for carving into jack-o-lanterns amongst work colleagues with a few of tastier varieties for pumpkin soup.

Our home is decorated and we will be prepared to accept considerate trick or treaters.

... I am warmed by winter sun and by the light in your eyes.
I am refreshed by the rain and the dew
And by thoughts of you...

Personally I don't like it, just wish we still had a piss pot under the bed to tip over the buggars when they come calling, now that is what I call  a treat :)

i don't give sweets to strangers!! ;)
You couldn't make it up!

I hate it, mainly for the reasons that Columbus was pointing out.

I think if it was as Jeannine says, mainly about only going to houses with a portch light on, and with their parents, then I would not have a problem.

Last year was fine, was visiting a friend in the countryside, so no trick or treaters, just spooked the place up, did some face painting, just generaly had a party, the only thing was the children did the face painting on the adults, the photos are very scary  :o

We have a carved pumpkin with a tea light for the little ones that come at twilight, plus a basket of sweets.

For the silly older ones I sport a mask...

... with my glasses on too  ;D
