Looking for a computer?

Was someone here looking for a computer for an elderly couple? I have a system which was top dog 4 years ago. Although it's not fast enough for todays gaming, I've used it on the internet so it's OK for basic use.
It includes a 15" monitor and speakers but needs a modem as I'm on broadband here.
I'm in the UK (Yorkshire) in two weeks and could bring it with me.

Probably me, Ken - but (with thanks to all for guidance on buying) the chap has a machine - it's the 'getting onto the net business' that I'm trying to help with. He would love it!! = Tim
