In the last week I have been given one marrow, yellow courgettes, rhubard, yellow beans, 2 enormous onions, 3 plums, although OH said they were damsons after he had ate them.  Every time I say that looks good, or that is nice, they give me some.  I love it, but when I try to give something back they saw they have had the allotment for 30 years and have enough.  What lovely people and it is so nice to be able to give.  I do get enormous satisfaction giving produce away, but so far have not had too many courgettes, runner beans etc. but if we ever get any rain here will gladly give some to neighbours.  The only thing we have enough of at the moment is blackberries and as the best ones are always at the top I am a bit scratched and stung by nettles and whatever came out of the grass, apart from the red ants, and bit my legs and bottom.  :-[ :-[ :-[

we all swap any excess, for new people there is always the 'give-away table', currently full of courgettes  ;D
I try to give back jams pickles and chutneys , they seem to go down well  ;D

Just swapped cardoon flowers for runner beans!
People become interested in giving me things when they discover I make a drop of country wine! 8)
The answer lies in the soil!
