Peas and Petis Pois

I have lots of peas now growing. They are around 5" tall. The problem is they are not climbing up the netting I have erected. Will they sort themselves out? Or should I tie them to the netting?

Also, my petis pois are supposed to be self supporting, but I have planted them and they are floppy- almost flat on the soil. Will they also correct themselves?

we sometimes tie them in until they get the hang of things  ;D

Tie them in loosely so the tendrils are in contact with the netting. They'll very soon get a grip.
