Do not give yourself such a hard time.  I worked in a office a short while ago and I was getting worried about 'senior moments'.

I worked with several youngsters: late teens early twenties.  Well blow me down! they were more scatterbrained than me.   Did more stupid things than me.   Filed more things is daft places than me.  Had more senior moments than me.

Borlotti

MY OH has started a book about my 'senior/silly moments'.  The best one (I think) was when I tried to write a cheque in Dorothy Perkins with a tampax.  Thought it was my thick white pen.

I'd also put this down to drugs, although not ones on prescription ! ;)

Deb I do all those, unfortunately.  ::)

OMG!! Borlotti I would have curled up and died with embarrassment but oh so funny to hear about.  ;D :D

My mum once, when she was 35, put the joint on the shoe rack and the slippers in the oven. We had to call the fire brigade.  :-\  ;D

Tulipa

Well this thread has made me chuckle, ;) I too suffer very badly with my memory these days, just think life is so busy for us all these days - well I have to blame something other than the fact I am getting old and grey..... :(

manicscousers

in a room, think of what I want to do, go out of the room and forget, back in the room so I can remember, no excuses, drugs or otherwise  ;D

lorna

Do all the things mentioned on a daily basis. (well except for Berlotti's pen incident!!) Unlike Tulipa I am not getting old I AM old and I am not going grey I AM grey. So I guess I really do have an excuse ;D

asbean

In the old days (when petrol was cheap cheap cheap) I once wrote a cheque for "sex pounds".  The garage was most amused!!!  And that was for a full tank too  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

And that was well before I hit 40!!

Freudian slip there asbean  ;D

I notice I don't wash up so well these days, not the dishes either LOL

A biff, bang, wallop doesn't seem to get the feet and finger nail's clean anymore  :(

Justy

My memory is awful and i am 'only' 38.  I think what someone else said earlier is the reason - we are all so busy nowadays and have so much to try and remember that our poor brains can't cope!  We need a bit of an evolutionary shift in our brains to move on from only having to think about staying alive and finding food to coping with jobs, social lives etc etc   ;D

oh Borlotti that is soooo funny
And thanks guys for making me smile this morning  :D

I was telling Manics on Sunday. We were half way to the plot and Tone said" have you got the sarnies". I had the little cool box but when I looked in it I had taken the ham joint from the fridge instead of the sandwiches. needless to say we had to turn back. I  strat to tell the kids things and they say " You've already told me mom" I think I must be turning into me mom.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I too am really bad on names.  When I have my 7 year old grandson to stay I often call him "Gavin", the name of my youngest son.  He tells me straight "I am not Gavin"

I am not too bad on losing things but my husband drives me up the wall.  He is always losing his spectacles.  I have found them in the wheelbarrow, on the compost heap and even in the fruit bowl!!  He refuses to wear something around his neck attached to his specs.  Even if he used it just in the garden it would save hours of searching as we have 1½ acres.

Here is a picture I took in France after hours of searching the caravan, awning and car.   ;D ;D

I have a great way of keeping glasses handy. A pair in every room.

Not enough :P :P

Planted some lettuce seed and then planted beetroot right on top.  Both coming up strongly.  Picked my first decent size courgette.  Lost it.

Can't find my trowels again.
