one of my tomato plants isn't looking to good, the bottom truss has just started to get fruit, but the top has started to wither and die i first noticed it about a week ago when the top truss started to die off and now the leaves at the top are curling up and look like they are going to die.
there is no sign of any bugs or anything and it's only affecting the one plant, the tunnel get full sun pretty much all day and gets very hot it's been suggested it may be down to the heat so i was wondering what people think, i'll post some pics tomorrow.

what is the temperature reaching in the tunnel? do you have a max/min thermometer? (if not, why not?)

i've got a thermometer but it's just a wilcos cheap thing and i don't think it's very accurate, i'll get myself a min/max thermometer i'd never heard of them before  :)
when i got back from work tonight around 7.00pm it was reading about 26c
i've only been opening one door on the polytunnel during the day as i go off to work around 9.00am and don't get back till about 7.00pm i'm a bit worried about what will happen if it turns windy during the day and both doors are open.

here is the pic not sure if you can see very well, if you look closely the top truss is withered away and the top leaves are kind of curled up.
i'll get myself a decent thermometer, i'm also going to put more mesh in the rear door so i can leave it open more and hopefully it wont let to much wind through.

you need air movement to stop fungus probs

my plan is to have one of the doors open and the back door open but cover the opening with some debris netting so this will let some air through but hopefully stop the wind a bit if it gets windy when i'm at work.

As far as I can see that plant is 'blind'

I have had two this year, coincidently they were the same variety (Ailsa Craig).

I put my problem down to 'old seed' I have had them for years and should have got rid of them sooner.

Luckily I had some spares so I replaced them.

If you havent any spares, cut the top off the plant and perhaps you might get a side shoot to grow as a leader!

I think it is worth a try!

Apart from that it looks like it`s been scorched as well

maybe its both i can't tell the top leaves do look strange so maybe it's blind, all the rest of my toms and doing fine  :)
