Never seen anything like it, tony. I'm glad they're in Regents Park, not my pond. They were nesting in trees on an island in the lake and came close to passers-by, as you can see.  One of them caught a duckling in its mouth and flew up and down trying to keep other herons from snatching it.

Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them with us. Amazing how much more forward plants are 90 miles (approx) from here in March. Cambs.
