I've looked on google earth at the allotment site i'm viewing tomorrow.  It's a huge site, there must be over 100 plots. I'm normally snuggled on the sofa but i've got an impulse to be outside this evening  :)

Am stuck at work until 2200 hours but as didn't start work until 1400 hours made use of this morning.

I plan to convert a chunk of the large, lawned front garden into a veggie plot & also create a nice deep border, so started the preparatory work for both.

The greatest chunk of time was spent trying to get stakes hammered into the lawn & affix string to mark out where my lawn edges will eventually be.   The whole process would have been far easier if my overgrown kitten had actually left the string alone!!!!!

This evening I managed to get round the next industrial estate over and harvest some pallets (had sought permission at lunchtime), got them over to the plot (weed sheet holding and compost bin), managed (after a few false starts) to get my new ryobi brushcutter going.... it needs its carb adjusting..... strimmed about half the bit that needs strimming, the glyphosated quite a lot of the weeds in the bit that wasn't strimmed as well as some of the bits that were.... will try to get up there Thursday to finish off the top bit and get some mulch sheet down and the first compost bin built..... and keepo digging... I need the potato bed......

Finished assembling a new access cold frame that I bought off of ebay last year - 10 foot by 4 foot, all that lovely space for seedlings.

Expect it'll be full within 2 weeks despite already having 2 greenhouses and 3 cold frames  ;D ;D
Best laid plans and all that
