two and a half windowsills, half the (extended) dining table and lots more to come, luckily it's both of us  ;D

Mine started last October when I moved the fuchsia cuttings and some sweet pepper seedlings in from the greenhouse for the winter. Sweet peas and chillies sown last week have joined them now.

Make a light box to put your seed trays in, cut the front off a cardboard box and line the inside with  foil, this reflects the light around the seedlings and helps them to grow straight and not drawn towards the daylight

Our windowsills are in use all year round. The squashes are on them in the winter and I start sowing 1st Feb with my peppers and toms. We have radiators under all of our sills so its nice and warm. I use Aldi's mini propogators. Someone on here mentioned using the fluffy dust sheets from Lidl as water conservers in the bottom so that what I do.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

cornykev

Took over the kitchen for the past 3 years and she wasn't to happy,  :'( so this year I suggested I put my plastic greenhouse up indoors in the play room before you knew it she'd cleaned out the playroom and the rest is history, still I think I'll put a few in the kitchen just to annoy her.  ;)                        ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

I'm gradually making inroads on the dining room. Two years ago one propagator on the floor, last year two, this year I've brought in an outdoor trolley to  put them on.

Sowing planned to begin on Sunday.

Vortex

you mean you stop putting things on the window sills ....

I always have cuttings, seedlings, baby plants, etc on the window sills.

Kendy

Got my 1st Aldi propogator on the windowsill containing cucumber (12), courgettes (12) and pumpkin (6) - and they have all germinated (almost overnight).

Was going to plant more then suddenly realised that we are supposed to be going away for a week at Easter.

How will I water them ?  Have got one of these 4 tier plastic greenhouses so I could put them in there and set up an automatic watering drip (using an Aldi timer that you connect to the outside tap.  Will they live for a week like that or will the cold kill them ?

Tee Gee

Not Guilty!!

Does that make me the 'perfect husband'  ??? ::)

My kitchen kept getting so crowded with pots and trays eventually I had to make a new kitchen just for cooking the dinner.  :P

reddyreddy

I only have one windowsill and that's chock full, am thinking of putting up a shelf in front of the dining room window as a mock window sill but haven't approval on that yet...!

lorna

Ah!! So living on your own does have an advantage :). All my windows have vertical blinds except bathroom. Have filled that sill drew the verticals back in the bedroom (just using the curtains.) Covered the top of the organ and the dining room table to put cuttings etc so I eat in the kitchen.  Gotta sort something by 6th April as I have family coming from Kent for the day!!

manicscousers
