How do I get these ?&**%££££ lables off my glass jars and bottles? >:(

I soak them overnight in hot soapy water, and some just slide off beautifully... ;D

Others require a good 5-10 minutes of scraping off the glue and I am fed up.

Please tell me there is a magic trick?

Thanks
Nats

If they don't come off with soaking many glues are dissolved by acetone (nail varnish remover)...  :-\

Yes I'd go for the nail varnish remover - evil stuff but works!

Mineral [baby oil] or vegetable oil  works too or you could buy some thing called STICKY STUFF remover which works a treat.

I used to use nail polish remover but as 1066 says, it's evil stuff; dries skin and eats Marigolds for breakfast.
So for the past five years+ I've been using an amazing Loctite product: Loctite 7850 (used to be called "Fast Orange", which some proper hardware stores still know it as).
It's actually an industrial hand-cleaner but is made from citrus oils and pumice. Works brilliantly on all gluey residues and is perfect at getting label-gunk off jars (it's what we use to clean off honey jars our customers give us back). I love it to bits.

It's pretty widely available: here's just one online stockist (chosen cause they stock the small 400ml size): http://marinestore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?store_code=mrst&screen=PROD&product_code=MD171393

Hope that's a help, Natsb.  :)
