As  fully paid up member of the seedaholics this is a site well known  ;D
If you are truely addicted very few seed suppliers escape your notice and the more obscure the better   ;D
;D   ;D    ;D

I musn't be a total seedaholic then as it wasn't in my favourites.... do I sneak a peak today or "give up" for lent?  :)

Have you ever ordered from lacroisette Barnowl?  I like the look of their artichokes and there are a few squash I wouldn't mind trying.

Unlike most of the other sites I mention, so far I've only ordered one thing from them: a large box of Fortex (Climbing French beans). They are a new company and made it clear on the site that they would not be able to deliver until December (because they buy late to ensure fresh stock). They wrote a general letter in December saying they were having trouble with the  web site hosting and also that a supplier had let them down. They would send out what they could and and complete partial deliveries later paying the extra P&P themselves. My seeds arrived in late January so I'm happy.

Because of the P&P I think it's only worth ordering from them if you simply have to have  :) a particular variety or put in a reasonably large order. They are very responsive to e-mails so also worth emailing them first to make sure they have what you want in stock.

It does help if you can manage a bit of French - here's their e-mail confirming despatch, explaining their problems and offering 10% off next order by way of apology for the delay and asking customers not to give them too much bad publicity! They seem sincere enough.

"Bonjour,

Ronny Staquet."

Forgot to mention that it might be worth checking Graines Baumaux if you are looking for a European variety.  They might be cheaper or offer more appropriate quantities.

Thanks Barnowl.  My understanding of French is not good, but from what you say they sound like a good company.

I don't really *need* any more artichokes but every time I see a different variety the compulsion to buy strikes again!

Thanks for the other link, haven't had time to look at it yet but I will.........
