Because it has been cold outside I started my propagators indoors at the weekend.

Just noticed last night that the temperature in the one without a thermostatic control was hitting 30 degC.  Is this going to prevent germination - I've sown tomatoes, chillies and aubergines?

If I put it in the GH the temperature will probably drop to around 15 degC overnight whereas I want a minimum of 20 degC.

I don,t think so Barnowl, If you look at what is required for germination it only gives you the minimum night time temprature, any warmth above that is a bonus and will make the germination all that quicker.
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

Thanks Davy.

When I got home last night I  noticed that about half the chillies have started popping up (4 days from sowing), so I reckon you're right and it's ok.

Mind you there must be an upper limit, just one that's higher than I thought :)
