Not really a mind of information on fruit bushes but I did hear on the radio this morning that Blueberry bushes require acid soil if that helps?
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

4 meters tall? In its natural environment - yes. In garden - 2 meters...

Blueberries do prefer an acid soil so unless you've got this then you'd be better off growing them in pots in ericacious compost  :)

I read that with blueberries you need to have 2 of them to get pollination - sure someone with more expertise will be along shortly..........

Hiya, Lukasz, welcome to the site  ;D
whereabouts in the world are you?  ;D

daileg

thats correct will grow to about 4 meters 2 meters spread will need erecasuous soil can keep it trimed down but likes the space there a little bitter than europeen blueberries but still good cooked down not as nice on there own fresh
you will need to tie into wires if you want to grow on plot
yes will pollinate better if your growing on allotment find out which plots how far away you are from other fruit bleuberries as bees will tavel to cross pollinate as long as it isnt to far next plot or the won after should be fine

wow, just looked and you're in poland..it'll be interesting finding out the differences in gardening over there  :)

Lukasz_blueberry

Hi everyone!!!

Quotejust looked and you're in poland

Yes, and I'm sorry if I will make mistakes - my english isn't very good, but I still learn.

Blueberry doesn't need cross pollination but the fruit are more bigger If they
are cross pollinated. then in fruit are more kernels (seeds?) and it makes our digestion better  :)

manicscousers

thanks for that, lukasz, I've got 2 blueberries but they're both the same type.
Mistakes  ??? Your english is better than my polish  ;D

hi Lukasz_blueberry
Thanks for your info. I was given a plant last year and have been meaning to buy a 2nd plant but am a bit limited for space at the moment, so might not bother now and see what happens this year?

Hi 1066

In my plantation distance between bushes is 1m and it is common distance  in many plantation. In my opinion it could be reduced to 0,8m. Some plantators planted their blueberries 0,5 metres off but in this case pruning must be very strong.

Don't wait with planting. If you plant today you will have fruit faster  ;)
