I've just come back from a potato buying expedition from one of our small independant garden centres which do a good selection.

I paid a bit more than that, £3.30 for 3kg. I purchased some Winston, Charlotte, Maris Piper, International Kidney and Marfona. I'm hoping to get the rest from the Ryton Potato day at the weekend..anyone else going?
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I've just picked up 21kg, and I can assure you I don't plant them "altogether" they will take at least a week to get in!
Where did you go Deb? I couldn't find any Picasso or Anya around Derby...

The Priory g.c. at Breedon.

Simmo116, we all learn! I know what you mean about planting earlies, 2nd earlies etc. at the same time, I didn't realise some just stayed in the ground longer! Saddad will tell you, I asked if you had to water spuds in after planting....well I didn't know and it had been dry for ages in Spring 2007!!

This will be the first year I'm attempting some maincrops in any quantity, never had the room before and it will be on newly cleared ground so I'm looking for eelworm resistant varieties presuming they will be a problem. Other than that I choose what sounds good from the description and what I like to use them for, so mostly baking and salad types. Oh, and my son wants to grow 'some blue ones' on his newly cleared plot! ;D
