Saturday January 24th & Sunday 25th January potato weekend at Dundry Nursery between Cheltenham and Gloucester. http://www.dundrynurseries.co.uk/

This is a great event that I went to last year for the first time and ended up joining the Gloucestershire Organic Gardening Group the group that run the event at the nursery. This year I am helping to run the event and really looking forward to it. There are over 150 varieties available and you can buy single tubers so you can try out lots of different varieties.

Well worth a trip!!  ;D

We're going on the Saturday, hoping to get there about 11.30ish.  Anyone interested in meeting up and having a pub lunch afterwards?  (One or 2 already interested)

I shall be attending the day at Ryton on the nonmembers day. Looking to get a few varieties to plant down my allotment. Generally how much would you buy? Im looking to keep myself in a steady supply of spuds over the mid to later part of this year. What should I be looking at getting? Any suggestions?

Thanks

saddad

Whatever floats your boat ManicC... about 100 varieties on offer. Best thing is you can buy them by the tuber so you can try say 5 of this and 5 of that...

I'm going to give the Nottingham one a go:

Nottingham Organic Gardeners Potato Day: 24th Jan 11am to 2pm at Sherwood Methodist Church, Sherwood.

They have 46+ varieties and apparently people were queuing to get in last year so definitely sounds worth a look.

Loved the link glosterwomble, wish I lived nearer to that garden centre.

Brilliant video of Dig for Victory

I'm sure you'll have a lovely couple of days helping out.

Sorry I won't be able to make it, going to Ryton on Saturday....but I've just looked on the Dundry website, and they have a fab potato search facility, I've saved it to my favourites.

It's really helped me narrow down my choices, I'm looking at eelworm resistant varieties this year for my new plot that has been grass for ages where it might be a problem....
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I'm going too on Saturday (hopefully). In previous years, GardenAntics has been there (selling his things) but wasn't there last time. I made an A4A badge a while back, perhaps I'll wear it (if not, will have various charity pin badges on - Dangermouse, Spongebob, RSPB birdie ones,....)

Thanks for the link to a great Spud website ..... too far away for me for a day trip.
Was hoping to have made it to Ryton this year (missed last year) but sadly have illness in the family, so no go.

Redclanger, please let us know what Sherwood was like

Hope you all enjoy your Tattie days out

I am off to Whitchurch again, but haven't been too well, so not sure if I'll make it down there Saturday or Sunday.  Great event
