check your final bills..I was delighted to get a cheque back for 70.00 credit from Scottish power on our electric account. When the gas came through, it was just 4.00..I looked carefully and noticed a 'cancellation fee' of 20.00., when I looked at the final electric bill, there was another on there for 30.00.
so, I e mailed them and asked why we had been charged after being with them for 5 years and would still have been with them if they had offered a better deal than a 6 month fixed charge.
today, I got a reply, they're refunding all 50.00, result..I'm one happy bunny  ;D

That's appalling! Might be worth an email to Martin Lewis (moneysavingexpert) or Consumer Focus to raise awareness. My last switch was TO Scottish Power so I'll keep an eye on them!
