I haven't a clue what I haven't a clue is on radio 4.  Do you mean it sounds like they copied the material?

Very much so.  ISIHAC is a cult radio 4 programme here and has been running a round called 'new definitions' for quite a while now.  Doesn't matter, but an acknowledgement on their part would have been nice.

This contest has been running in the Washington Post (rather than the NY Times-sorry!) since 1983  begun by columnist Bob Levey. Every month he selects a unnamed aspect of modern life or society (suggested by his readers) and publishes it in his column in The Washington Post. The challenge for the three thousand or so readers who enter is to invent a witty new word to describe the chosen subject.  Does this pre-date the ISIHAC radio 4 programme?

Coming back to ISIHAC & other plays on words?  Humour, per se, isn't copywrited nor is one person's original pun/original idea unique to them. (Sadly)

(sorry Tonybloke, if this was covered in your link? My puter freezes when I click on other sites from here, so I'm not trying - apols if this applies :-[ )
