"It's beginning to look a bit like Christmas" la la la la la.   :D

By the time Christmas is actually here will we all be fed up with this Asda advert?  It must have been on at least 20 times yesterday!

I know, I know, I keep singing it, can't get it out of my head.  If it is Asda will have to slap my bottom.  Quite like the Morrison advert but TV adverts for weeks are enough to make me want to cancel Christmas.  The M & S food is so rich we call it 'sick food'.

....times like these, reminds me why I like NOT havin a tele 8)..only have to suffer an ad on 4oD while a prgramme loads.... 8)

Sicky, yucky Crimbo tho ??? Was in Aldi yesters and the place is stuffed to the rafters with sweet stuff....it's a wonder how, as a nation, we've got any teeth left ???

It's the Nintendo wii adverts that are geting on my thripeny bits. >:(

I pity the staff in stores who have to listen to Xmas music all the time - would drive me mad !

At least it is now December so I am prepared to accept that Christmas is not that far away! I am now allowed to make mince pies and bought my Christmas stamps this morning.
Having said that, I've been playing "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus" on my clarinet for several weeks in preparation for the Christmas concert! ;D

Well the weather looks like Christmas.  I am rarely, if ever, on the ITV Channel so do not get the annoying adverts.  I must admit though to the comment that M&S food is sickly.  I have seen them chocolate puddings oozing chocolat and I think I couldn't manage to eat much of that.

Went into Asda today to see what their Crimbo stuff was like, they were playing Carols...it just seems too soon! ::)

I did pick up some groovy Christmas cards though, very appropriate for this forum....the outside card is plain white, with 'Merry Christmas' cut out so you can see a picture underneath....when you open it up, the picture is revealed as nothing but sprouts! Good eh?!
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Have you got snow up there then Carol?

I think it was probably on Sky not ITV.  I had the Chelsea v Arsenal match on and then a couple of documentaries from the Geographical channels.  I was half watching tv whilst making some Christmas cards.

First Christmas card dropped on the mat this morning, that means the wife will start(the traditional) nagging me to put string up to hang them from, more holes in me anaglypta. :'(

Lots and lots of snow here, which is sort of fun, until you get up, drive four hundred yards and meet six other cars that are skew wiff all over the road and going no where. Hubby left the house at 6.50 am and was back five minutes later for his shovel!

It took him two hours and two minutes to complete a thirty minute journey. Usually I am with him as he drops me off but thankfuly I had a day off today.

Oh and we also got our first Christmas card through the post today, so yes it does rather festive today  ;D

Anaglypta is the stippled wallpaper.  You usually put the paper on the wall and emulsion on top.

We have had snow off and on all day today.  We have to get more tomorrow with even more on Thursday!!.  Its beginning to look like Christmas.

I do like M&S Food and usually in there every week but them chocolate puddings seem to turn my tum a bit.  OH has had one but when I saw the amount of calories in one pudding the 2nd one went to our Niece who is thin!!

what is anaglypta?  ???

anaglypta....60s? 70's? think it might have been an upmarket ??? woodchip. Dreadful stuff. Was sitting in the local crematorium churchy-thing a few months ago listening to the taped organ music before Erself arrived for her Party, all very hushed and solemn...my friend looked around at the religious pictures on the walls, the vaulted ceiling, and whispered...."you don't see much anaglypta around nowadays, do you?" ;D

Well we have just used some on our walls in the dining room.  It is quite thick so gives an extra layer of insulation and makes the walls warmer.  I can't see that there is anything not to like about it.  The one we chose has a pattern on it but there are some that are plain.  I don't think it is at all like woodchip which had bits that stood out and used to break off.  Here's a picture showing anaglypta in our house.

Anaglypta is a thick embossed wallpaper that was suitable to paint over.

Oh and we are still snowed, have lost maybe four  to five work hours already this week due to not being able to get to where we are going and apparently expecting another huge snow fall this evening  :-X
