don't laugh, I'm being serious  ;D
trying to persuade my in laws that a downstairs loo would be a good idea..they only have a small space so we're thinking this may be the solution ?

A friend had a similar problem, and just has the space under the stairs. He put in a small macerator(?) toilet. It seems efficient enough so long as no-one puts anything other than human waste and toilet paper in there. The noise it makes is the only off-putting thing. :o ;D
Smile, it confuses people.

ah, thanks, maggie..that's what it is, a macerator..they'll just have to put up with the noise, they have great difficulty getting up and down stairs and dad's just had a stomach problem so he's had to live upstairs for 2 days  :o
anyway, we've half-persuaded them  ;D

Hi , Rather than a Saniflo have a look on Pump.co.uk. I used to supply and fit their version in my last job. Advice from them is free and their service is top class. The product itself is of better build quality than Saniflo and possibly quieter. The real secret to fitting them is to box round them and then fill the box with insulation mat or poltstyrene slab to hold everything in place and reduce vibration.Any competent DIY,er can fit one in a few hours provided that mains water is nearby and a soil stack or sewage manhole is close. I have fitted somewhere close to eighty of these without any call back to problems.
Hope this helps!!
