I have loads of eating apples. The cookers have all been eaten. Is there anything they can be used for in cooking other than just eating raw?

I have also made loads of apple wine already

I use them in recipes for cooking apples, just cut the sugar back a bit.  Apple jelly, chutney, crumble, sauce, cake etc. etc.

I use them for lots of savoury things - e.g. stewed for apple-sauce, to accompany meat (add a dash of vinegar, & salt and pepper). If I roast chicken or chicken legs in the oven, I chuck in some quartered onions and apples (peeled) and garlic, the flavours go really well. You might want to chuck the apples in a bit later though as they do cook very fast.

For stewed apple, or apple crumble, I just stew them without adding any sugar. It's also a great way to freeze them if you have a glut. You can also add a bit of apple sauce to stews.

Oh, and you can also use them in soups, like celery, or squash.

we get a glut of discovery every year, we stew them for puds, plus we have a press to make our own apple juice, which we freeze, too  ;D

I always seem to get a glut of eating apples too. I was going to make green tomato chutney and use some in place of the cooking ones, which I would have to buy. Would I need to put some lemon juice with the apples to make them a bit tarter, more like cooking apples??? I have a juicer and do my apple juice that way. I made some apple and raspberry juice the other day. Put the raspberries in the blender though as juicing them does not seem to work well. I strained out the raspberry pips and some of the scummy stuff from the apple juice and bottled it. It was yummy.
